We verified all charges to rooms that the players were accessing via the gift shop, and as you can imagine contacting every family member would have been very tough for both parties. This is much the same as an airline booking, once the seats fill up at a certain rate then there is another rate available. They had booked a certain number of rooms and once those are gone that rate is no longer available. As you know your reservations were through a 3rd party booking with the tournament.
I understand your frustration regarding rates. We would have loved to focus on other items. Our team was very busy cleaning and repairing damages caused by many of the players during the down time in areas that were not being utilized by the teams.
